Our breast implants - Quality Made in Germany

POLYTECH combines high quality standards with a unique product variety. Breast implants are categorised as class III medical devices and are therefore among the most strictly controlled products on the market.

To meet these high standards, POLYTECH breast implants are manufactured exclusively in Germany. Every single breast implant undergoes a thorough examination before it is released to the market.

Patients and surgeons in more than 80 countries trust in our breast implants for both breast augmentation and breast reconstruction procedures.

Every person is different, and every breast surgery consideration is individual. At POLYTECH we offer a large variety of over 2,000 implants to allow your surgeon to find the breast implant for your individual needs.

With over 500 variants, the Sublimeline breast implants by POLYTECH enable patients and their surgeons to choose the implant that fits their needs and preferences.B-Lite® is the world’s first and only lightweight breast implant. It is specifically designed to reduce the long-term unwanted impact of implant weight and pressure on the breast tissue.Diagon\Gel® implants are filled with two gels: Softer EasyFit Gel™ at the posterior and firmer Shapar Gel™ at the anterior.
Shape
  • Même® - The traditional round breast implant with a circular base and uniformly semi-spherical profile.
  • Replicon® - The classic among the anatomical shapes, with a circular base
and a tear-drop profile with more volume in the lower half.
  • Opticon® Plus - The latest anatomical implants, featuring the short plus oval base – with a plus in height and optimised filling volume.
  • Opticon® - These implants are a variant of the anatomical shape. They have a shorter base and are particularly suitable for women with more subcutaneous fat tissue in the neckline.
  • Même® - round base central projection
  • Replicon® - round base anatomical projection
  • Opticon® - short base anatomical projection
  • 4Two AR - round base, anatomical projection
  • 4Two AO - short base, anatomical projection

IMPLANTS OF EXCELLENCE

IMPLANTS of EXCELLENCE is our warranty programme for POLYTECH and B-Lite® breast implants.
By registering within 6 months from surgery and participating in the annual survey, patients are eligible to receive free replacement implants:

  • in the event of a material-related loss of shell integrity (including contralateral breast adjustment in all cases diagnosed by a surgeon) for their implants lifetime
  • in the event of Capsular Contracture Baker Grade III or IV, for 10 years from implantation in case of POLYsmoooth™, MESMO® and POLYtxt® and for lifetime in case of Microthane® implants

The filling of our breast implants:

POLYTECH breast implants are filled with silicone gels approved for long-term implantation. These gels are cohesive and highly cross-linked, allowing our breast implants to be form-stable - if you change the form with moderate pressure, they will return to their original shape.

The Shell

The shell of our breast implants:

In all breast implants, the shell is made of silicone elastomer, a high-performance material that is resistant to chemical and mechanical effects. Composed of different layers, the shell has a well-defined structure with a special barrier layer designed to prevent silicone oils from migrating.

The Surface

We offer breast implants in 4 surfaces:

  • Microthane® for the micropolyurethane foam cover
  • MESMO® for fine microtexture surface
  • POLYtxt® for microtexture surface
  • POLYsmoooth™ for smooth surface

Breast implants with Microthane® surface, in particular, contribute to a significant reduction in capsular contracture rates(1, 2)

POLYTECH’s Breast Expanders

Breast expanders are temporary devices used in two-stage breast reconstruction procedures, after mastectomy or lumpectomy due to breast cancer, or tissue damage due to other diseases, congenital defects, or trauma. Breast expanders are used to expand the tissue in the breast area (the first step), in order to prepare it for a breast implant (the second step).

Breast expanders are filled with saline solution via a valve. The valve can be remote and connected to the shell by tubing, or it can be integrated into the shell of the device within a magnet that allows oriented filling.

It is important to note that breast expanders with integrated valves (By POLYTECH or other manufacturers) are contra indicated for MRI diagnostic imaging, POLYTECH also manufactures breast expanders with a remote valve, that are made from non-ferromagnetic materials, and therefore do not interfere with MRI technology.

Are tests performed to ensure the safety of the implants?

POLYTECH’s breast implants are constantly and thoroughly tested.

The European Medical Device legislation and international industry standards stipulate precise requirements for breast implants. Materials, product development, production, quality control, sterilisation and packaging are subject to very strict regulations.

See below two examples of the tests we perform regularly:

Fatigue test: Also called mechanical stability destructive tests, are performed on each and every batch of breast implants manufactured. In this test we simulate the dynamic forces working on the breast implants in the chest of a woman jogging. According to the current standard, 6,5 million cycles are required. This corresponds to a weekly running distance of 10 km over a period of 10 years. According to the guidelines, the shell must not show any defect after this test.

Elongation test: In this test we check the ability of the shell to be subjected to elongation without rupturing. The minimum elongation stipulated is 450%. Our shells achieve up to 850%.
