Each woman has her own personal concept of beauty. Some embrace the changes to their physique over time and some choose to seek cosmetic procedures.
Over the lifetime of a woman, one of the main events that contributes to body changes is pregnancy and also breastfeeding.

It is essential that you take your time and consider if any cosmetic procedure is the right choice for you – without any external pressure.

What is a mommy makeover?

A “Mommy Makeover” is a combination of procedures designed to regain the pre-pregnancy body or improve post-partum physical changes. These procedures are individualized and can include:

  • Breast augmentation to restore lost volume
  • Breast lift to correct sagging
  • Breast reduction to reduce size of enlarged breasts
  • Tummy tuck, to remove excess fat and skin while tightening the abdominal   wall
  • Liposuction to contour specific areas of the body
  • Vaginal rejuvenation, which covers several different cosmetic procedures for female genitalia, such as labiaplasty and vaginoplasty

The advantages of B-Lite® implants in mommy makeover

One of the common complaints of women post-partum and breastfeeding is the sagging and volume loss of their breast.
The tissues composing the breast naturally lose their elasticity, making them increasingly susceptible to the force of gravity. More weight results in more stretch.

With up to 30% less weight compared with traditional silicone implants, the innovative B-Lite® lightweight breast implants offer a significant advantage when choosing breast augmentation (with or without breast lift or mastopexy).
Less weight equals less strain. It’s that simple.

Data from a recent Post-Marketing-Surveillance study, gathered over a period of 5 years, with over 1,000 B-Lite® surgeries, showed 92% patient satisfaction with the results. Over 65% of the women were post-pregnancy and or -breastfeed patients.1

Am I a good candidate for a mommy makeover?

Pregnancy can impact a woman’s body in different ways, which is why a Mommy Makeover is not a closed combination of procedures, but a combination that your surgeon will customize based on your individual preferences, condition and concerns.

To be a good candidate for a Mommy Makeover, you must be in good physical health and have a stable weight that you can easily maintain. Also, many women opt to wait for such procedures until after their last planned pregnancy, since a new pregnancy can affect the results of the procedures.

It is recommended to wait at least six months to a year post-partum and breastfeeding, before considering a Mommy Makeover procedure.

What will the recovery be like?

Your recovery time will depend on your chosen procedures. Most patients take between 1 to 3 weeks off work to recover; however, your surgeon is the only person qualified to inform you about your expected recovery time.

You can expect swelling, bruising, and tightness that will subside as you recover. However, breast augmentation surgery, like any other surgery, can have possible complications that you should be aware of before you choose to opt in for this procedure and also when you recover post-surgery. Possible complications include the risks of anesthesia, asymmetry, implant dislocation, increased scarring, sensory disturbances, capsular contracture, infection, seroma, loss of shell integrity. You should always discuss the possible risks with your physician prior to breast surgery. Be informed! Read more >>

What is the cost of a Mommy Makeover?

Unfortunately, there is no standard answer to this question, and you must consult a qualified surgeon in your area.

Costs will vary depending on the surgeon/clinic, the country, and of course, the specific combination of procedures that you and your surgeon select.

Consult a qualified surgeon in your area, and don’t be tempted by offers “too good to be true”: prioritize your health, the qualifications of the surgeon and the quality of the implants (in case you need them).
