The POLYTECH anatomical breast expander is designed to closely mirror the shape of our definitive anatomical implants, streamlining the transition from the expansion phase to final breast reconstruction. Available in a wide range of sizes and projections – including high and extra-high – it offers surgeons the flexibility to achieve natural symmetry in two-stage breast reconstruction.
Features such as a larger, self-sealing valve for easier filling, a 360° port locator for precise injection, and a soft, flexible shell with a reinforced base support smooth surgical handling, controlled directional expansion, and patient comfort throughout the reconstruction process.
- SAME SHAPE AS THE DEFINITIVE IMPLANT
The shape of the expanders corresponds to our range of anatomical breast implants.
- MORE CHOICES FOR NATURAL SYMMETRY
More size options in high and extra high projection offering greater choice.
- EASY & SAFE FILLING
Larger port with self-sealing valve for simpler expansion.
- QUICK PORT LOCATION
Precise location with a detection mechanism directs you accurately to the point of injection.
- TRUSTED AND PROVEN
The microtextured POLYtxt® surface provides stability and tissue integration.1 - PATIENT COMFORT
The soft and flexible shell elastomer allows smoother surgical insertion and greater patient comfort. - MIMIC NATURAL CURVES
On the inside, all expanders are equipped with a reinforced base to increase the stability of the posterior contact area and to support the directional expansion.

Planning for Symmetry
Our anatomical two-stage solution is designed with matched footprints between expander and final implant, reducing the risk of displacement or rotation. This alignment allows for more consistent outcomes in symmetry and appearance. POLYTECH’s tools support simplified planning, enabling easy selection of a definitive implant that corresponds to the initial expander in both shape and size.

A System of Choices: Gel, Surface, Shape
Our two-stage breast reconstruction solution allows you to combine your surgical skills with our wide range of products, so that you may achieve long-term outcomes and meet your patients' unique needs and preferences.
The portfolio offers flexibility in gel cohesiveness, surface textures, and anatomical shapes to suit each case. All are designed to meet surgeon preferences and patient goals:
- Shape: Round or anatomical expanders (Replicon®, Opticon®, Opticon®Plus) are matched with corresponding implants.
- Gel: Final implant options include lightweight B-Lite® or traditional SublimeLine filling
- Surface: From covered (Microthane®) to microtextured (POLYtxt®) and fine microtextured (MESMO®).
Comfort, Lightweight Solutions, and Recovery
When volume is needed to fill the skin envelope, lightweight options like B-Lite® help reduce stress on the tissue. These implants are up to 30% lighter and exert ~50% less pressure compared to standard silicone gel implants². Clinical studies have shown that patients may experience less postoperative pain and a faster return to normal activities when B-Lite® is used³.

Surface Technologies for Stability and Long-Term Performance
Microthane® is widely respected for its stability and performance in two-stage breast reconstruction. The 3D open pore matrix functions as a scaffold. It allows for tissue ingrowth into the implant surface. Microthane® has demonstrated very low rates of capsular contracture, not only in primary augmentation4, but also in two-stage reconstruction, even with radiation5.
MESMO® implants demonstrate a low overall complication rate7. implants are widely used in implant-based reconstruction as the definitive implant following tissue expansion. They have been reported with low complication rates and high levels of patient satisfaction, with 93.9% of patients satisfied or very satisfied with their aesthetic results6.
In the same follow-up, re-operation rates were reported at 0.5% and implant replacement at 0.4%, underscoring the consistency of outcomes over time6.
POLYtxt® continues to be a preferred microtextured surface, supporting stability and tissue integration¹.
Restore Natural Aesthetic Outcome Over Time
POLYTECH anatomical breast implants (Replicon®, Opticon®, Opticon®Plus) are developed to closely replicate the natural curve and contour of the breast. Available in multiple shapes and projections, they allow surgeons to tailor the choice of implant to each patient’s anatomy and aesthetic objectives. This flexibility supports personalised surgical planning in both aesthetic breast augmentation and breast reconstruction, aiming for results that enhance patient quality of life and promote long-term satisfaction.

Tools for Efficient Selection
Expander and implant matching is supported by the POLYTECHselect guide, helping identify shape, base width, height, and projection with speed and precision. Footprint compatibility ensures that each expander has a logical path to its final implant counterpart.
